Help Two Families Obtain Immigration Benefits

The Latin American Association (the LAA) has the ability to change the lives of very deserving families that endure insurmountable hurdles immigrating to the United States. Many immigrants come to the LAA to seek help from our many services provided at very low costs. There are many reasons why immigrants and their families need the services of an immigration attorney. We are here to help families navigate the complex U.S. immigration system and secure the immigration status that their family members are eligible for.

Our Immigration Services Department offers affordable legal services to help eligible low-income immigrants and asylum seekers obtain immigration benefits in this country. We represent clients with all types of immigration cases, including family petitions; naturalization and citizenship; removal proceedings; protections for minors and for immigrant victims of crime; asylum; and deferred action, among others.

Below we have highlighted two families in particular that this campaign will be funding. Many asylum cases get discarded daily, but because of these two compelling stories and need for financial assistance, we felt it was a good time to reach out to our community for support.

To ensure the safety of these families, we cannot disclose names or pictures in order to protect their identities.

Case #1

The first case is a 4 year old boy and his 12 year old sister from El Salvador. Their mother came to the United States when they were very young in order to work and send money back to her family. They were left to live with their maternal grandmother and step grandfather. Both children were abused physically, verbally and sexually by their grandparents. Because of their traumatic living experience, their development has severely been impacted. The two children have since moved to metro Atlanta and are in need of help.

Case #2

The second case is a family of four from El Salvador. The father was a cop for over 19 years in El Salvador. During his time as a police officer, his partner was murdered by members of the MS-13 gang. The gang later targeted him and his family. He tried to report the threats to a judge, who just laughed at him and disregarded the severity of the situation. The family fled to the United States in fear of their lives. They now live in metro Atlanta.
Success Story!

Recently, through the hard work of our immigration department, a mother and son fleeing El Salvador, were granted asylum. The approval rate for similar asylum cases is at an extremely low rate of only 4%! This goes to show that with hard work and the funding to pay for legal fees, a deserving family's life could be changed!

Our Goal

With help from incredible people like you, we can raise the amount of $4,000 to cover all legal and immigration costs/fees needed for the two asylum cases cited above. Both families have little to no financial help and it is up to us as a community to make sure they are able to get the support they need.

Please Act Today!

Please help support our life changing cause.

Every cent counts, but even if all you can do is forward this link to as many people you know, we will be very grateful. With your help, together we can impact the lives of very deserving families.

Thank you for your support,

The Latin American Association
