Green card sponsorship

Laura Barberia is a gifted, enthusiastic, and dedicated teacher at Christopher Columbus Family Academy in New Haven, CT.
Laura left Spain and attended Southern CT State University for her undergraduate studies in education and played soccer for their team.
She completed her student teaching at Columbus and was so successful that she joined Columbus as a full-time teacher the following year.
Ms. Barberia is so committed to the school and to dual language education that she has invested tens of thousands of dollars in a Masters in dual language education so that she may stay and teach our children. Dual language educators are in short supply and many positions go unfilled for more than a year. In order to continue teaching after this school year, Laura will need a green card. Our district has agreed to sponsor her, but the cost is her responsibility.
We are a group of parents whose children were lucky enough to have Ms. Barberia as a teacher and a soccer coach. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to file her application and keep her at our school.
Please, help us meet this goal. Donating even $5 will make a huge difference.
