In a recent report issued by IssueLab (a service of the Foundation Center): only 1% of all grant money is designated towards hispanics/latinos, totaling only $200 million/year, despite this group representing 16% of the U.S. population and 24% of those in poverty. Of the $200 million, 40% goes to the west coast and very little to the north east. In addition, only 5% goes toward economic and community development. Given these sobering statistics, the EparaTodos Program Campaign provides our program with a steady stream of funding specifically targeted to address this dire funding need.
